Amoris Laetitia and Its Import

Workshop Number:
A-03 & C-12

Amoris Laetitia is Pope Francis’s recent exhortation on marriage and family. What are its main points and overall import? Are there any doctrinal changes? What does the document say about the availability of certain sacraments to the divorced and remarried? How does Amoris Laetitia compare with John Paul II’s exhortation Familiaris Consortio? This workshop is particularly relevant for those involved in marriage preparation. Participants will get an overall view of Amoris Laetitia; a good grasp of what Pope Francis wants emphasized; and a helpful comparison of two exhortations on the family.
